Your Childs First Visit

Ensuring your child has a positive dental experience during their first visit to our clinic is of utmost importance. This helps establish a sense of comfort in the dental environment and eases future visits. Our team carefully listens to any concerns you may have and conducts a thorough assessment of your child’s oral health during this initial visit. Additionally, we strive to acclimatise your child to the surroundings of our clinic. Following the examination, we create a personalised treatment plan that caters to your child’s unique needs. As we guide you through the decision-making process, we encourage questions and provide ample opportunities for you to be involved.

Most Common Child Treatments

Fissure Sealant
The fissures and irregularities found on molars often harbour food particles and bacteria, which can cause dental decay if not properly addressed. Fortunately, the application of fissure sealants can act as a protective barrier against decay in these areas. This simple and painless procedure involves cleaning the tooth and applying a sealant material to the fissures, which is then hardened using a blue light. Although these sealants are long-lasting, periodic maintenance may be necessary to ensure their continued efficacy.

Dental Extractions
Although our dentists strive to preserve teeth, some circumstances may necessitate their removal, such as making room for orthodontic therapy or treating extensive decay. If tooth extraction becomes necessary, our skilled team will administer gentle and cautious treatment to ensure that your child experiences minimal discomfort and stress. We prioritise reducing pain and guaranteeing a seamless and painless procedure.

General Anaesthetic
In situations where patients are unable to remain still during treatment or suffer from intolerable conditions, general anaesthesia can be a viable option. However, before proceeding with this form of treatment, we will first assess your suitability and ask that you fill out a medical questionnaire for evaluation purposes.

Dental Hygiene
Hygienists provide professional teeth cleaning services through a process called scaling and polishing. The process begins with an initial dental hygiene examination conducted by the hygienist, followed by the scaling of teeth to eliminate any plaque or tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas that brushing cannot remove. Finally, the hygienist performs a clean and polish to get rid of superficial stains from teeth.
